Salem Bible Church and Salem Christian School Library
Purpose
To provide quality Christian and secular print and non-print materials for members and friends of Salem Bible Church and Salem Christian School to study and enjoy.
Location
The library is located in the right hand corner of the gym building.
Ministry Programs
During the week the school library is staffed three mornings per week to educate elementary students in library skills, research skills, and literature appreciation.
Students also exchange books during their class time. Students in all grades are welcome to use the library resources. Occasional book fairs are held in conjunction with the school's Open House.
The library is open on Sunday mornings between services and immediately following Sunday School.
Sunday Volunteer - Staff the library on Sunday mornings on a rotating basis.
School Volunteer - Assist the librarian with classes on Monday a.m., Wednesday or Thursday p.m. on an as needed basis.
Book Processing - Help with book processing which includes stamping, putting on book jackets and spine labels, etc. Volunteers are needed on an occasional basis.
Qualifications
Enjoy working with people, possess organizational skills, and be willing to familiarize yourself with the Dewey Decimal system, library operations such as using the card catalog to locate materials in the collection, and library procedures (handbook provided).
